Project 2

This project is a test of teamwork. From business students as well as psychology students, presenting about their Thermobrew, DYO, and Paw Cast. My group and I were deciding whether Thermobrew or  DYO would be fit for us. Paw Cast wasn't in the choice for us as it was unclear in our opinion.

We finalized on taking DYO, a tumbler that can store 2 types of liquids. With several types of tumbler such as
1. Classic
2. Fitness
3. Kids
4. Care

From the options above, we chose DYO Care. Below is a DYO Care sketch from the business students:

Next step is our logo. To make things fair, each of our group had to sketch and pitch in our own ideas, from there,

the business students would pick the winning logo. From sketch to an upgraded draft, we sent out 4 logos for voting.

From those 4 logos, majority voted on No.4, made by DYO Kids Group, hence now it is decided.

but they need to refine it so the other dyo can use it as logo because their logo its too childish
and this their final logo after they fixed

PACKAGING DESIGN

Our objective from here is to create a secure packaging as our product is on the heavier side. With such issue, we decided on a top tuck and snap-lock bottom box. We made a dimension of a height of 27.5cm and a width of 8.5cm. Starting from my first design below:

All my teammates are using Window for the packaging. So in my part, I tried to do the contrary. On the right side, there's a sketch made by Sheryne to illustrate the existence of a pill storage underneath the tumbler. On the left side, there's several small logos, contributed by me to emphasize further on 2 liquid storage, pill storage, anti-leak, and BPA-free. i added a  wavy element to the box, separated by 2 different colors to showcase 2 different liquids. We chose green and beige to represent health and nature.

During Week 9-10, it was the time for the psychology student's assessment with the involvement or an eye-tracker tool. A test to see the audience's attention to our design. Below are the drafts we sent to them:

For days we waited on a response, however the bad news is, the eye-tracker tool was malfunctioned, hence they relied on interviews to replace the tool.
The interview results stated that the audience found the color blue most appealing as it represents wellbeing, health, lifestyle.

PACKAGING PRINTING
A final check before printing out was to double check the die line. Which was found faulty using an HVS paper.

The 2nd try, we used a 4mm cardboard, sending it off to the laser cut machine, with multiple tries to fold the perfect fit.

However, after several attempts, we had a faulty error on the bottom of the box. Due to the gaps, it couldn't fit perfectly since we used a 4mm carboard, meaning it was too thick.

I tried to calculate the errors and we made a new die-line. After we retried it, it was much better than before, but the material was still too thick as seen below. Hence moving forward we decided to print in 2mm.

At last, after reconfirming our die-line, we sent the design to the printing shop. The specifications to be printed were on a white vinyl sticker, A2 size, with an Eflute board. the finalized product turned our successful.
